From a wife View

As a BattleForged Nation spouse, I hear the constant “ding” from my husband’s cell phone. As the BattleForged Nation: National QRF director’s spouse, I hear his phone ring constantly. As a BFN spouse, I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes, it’s a little much.

But today, I had the very unique opportunity to hear my husband and his team working very closely with a case.

It didn’t matter that it was the day before a holiday weekend, it didn’t matter that most of them were in the middle of an already busy day with their own jobs and families.

While doctor’s offices were closing early, and the VA was ignoring calls as usual, life had stopped for this team because word had come thru that one of their fellow brothers in arms was in trouble.

And that friends, is what the Battleforged Nation QRF truly is. A team of one of a kind people who have been there, done that. A team of dedicated VOLUNTEERS who REFUSED to let the sun go down (even on a holiday weekend) without making sure they had made EVERY phone call, reached out to EVERY outlet, and exhausted EVERY resource to make sure that a struggling vet- their fellow brother or sister, knows that they ARE NOT ALONE, that SOMEONE CARES, and that suicide WAS NOT the only option.

Today, the eve before Thanksgiving, I want to say that I am THANKFUL for the Battleforged Nation. That I am proud to be even a small part of a family of people who’s service didn’t stop the day they retired, but rather had only just begun.

God Bless You, Battleforged Nation. God Bless your families, your friends, and from the bottom of this military spouse’s heart, THANK YOU.❤️
